Copia Investment Partners (Copia) is pleased to announce it has appointed Greg Black as Distribution Manager for Queensland. Based in Brisbane, Greg will be responsible for building distribution relationships for Copia and its six investment partners across Queensland and northern NSW.
Greg was most recently employed at BT Financial Group, where he held a number of roles over the past 15 years, including the position of Regional Manager Distribution for BT Open for the past three years.
Greg has over 20 years’ experience in the Australian financial services industry, with positions held across network development, platforms, funds management, insurance and financial planning. Prior to BT, Greg was a financial adviser with Davidson Financial Group and before that, was a distribution manager at Colonial First State.
Welcoming Greg’s appointment, Copia General Manager of Distribution John Clothier said “We’re delighted to have Greg join our team as we seek to build Copia’s distribution footprint with financial advice practices in Queensland. Greg’s strong network, coupled with his experience and understanding of key facets of the advice chain, including platforms and financial advice, will assist in our efforts to become a premium provider of product solutions to Australian investors”.
This is Copia’s first permanent appointment in Brisbane, reflecting the strategic importance of the Queensland market to the group’s long-term plans.
Copia is an Australian investment distribution and support company with six partner fund managers in its stable: OC (Australian small caps), Vertium (equity income), Chester (high conviction Australian equities), ECP Asset Management (Australian equity growth high conviction), Artisan Partners (global small and mid-cap equity), and TT International (global environmental impact).
Mr Clothier added: “Greg joins at an exciting time of growth for Copia. TT International was signed up as an investment partner in June 2021 and has already received a Recommended rating from a major Australian research house. All Copia products now have at least one Recommended rating from an Australian research house, with increasing platform representation.”
The Artisan Partners Global Discovery Fund, launched in mid-2020, has been particularly successful and has already attracted over $200 million in retail flows.
Greg’s appointment follows the recent hiring of additional staff in the sales and marketing teams at Copia, with the business currently seeking to appoint a senior compliance resource.
