Sam Cole, July 2018 - Fund update, Investment Manager

Global markets were sold down over the month of October as a series of macro-economic, political and geo-political factors conspired to undermine investor confidence resulting in a sharp equity market sell-off.

Across the domestic small cap market, the sell-off was broad-based with the S&P/ASX Small Ordinaries Accumulation Index and the S&P/ASX Small Industrials Accumulation Index each posting sharp declines for the month, down 9.6% and 10.6% respectively.

The Funds were not immune to the pull-back and endured a challenging month, with the OC Premium Small Companies Fund and OC Dynamic Equity Fund both declining -9.2%. The OC Micro-Cap Fund finished the month down -7.7%, ahead of the benchmark which was down -10.9%.
